Sticky Pads - the real power of E-Stim

The humble sticky pad comes in all of our e-stim packs but is often overlooked in favour of the more shiny and sexy looking insertables.

They even come is different sizes but not many people know how to get the best out of these humble electrodes pads.

Here we try to give you some ideas on how to get the best out of something that is simple, reusable, versatile, effective and low cost - need we say more?

For Starters

All of our E-Stim Systems power boxes come with a pack of standard self adhesive sticky pads.

These are similar to the pads you see in use in hospitals in a daily basis, the only difference is the connection. Hospitals use them as they offer a very good skin connection it's also why they are so good for electroplay.

ElectroPads generally come as a set of four on a protective carrier sheet, so you can use two and still have spares, or use four at the same time, assuming of course you have a two channel box like the 2B.

Two points of

Remember the basic rule of electro play - two points of contact. Since sticky pads are what we call monopole electrodes you need to use two at a time for the current to flow.

Connecting

As sticky pads have a medical background, and the ones we supply were originally designed for medical use, you will need a cable with 2mm/TENS connector. These are normally a silver or gold pin. Simply push the pin into one pad, then the other, and then connect the other end of the cable into your power box. We would generally suggest sticking the pads on before connecting them up - you don’t want to get any inadvertent jolts before you start to play - or would you???

Positions

Stick below the waist, and don’t stick the pads on top of each other, but apart from that, the choice is yours. Either aside of any erogenous zone can be interesting, remember that the closer the pads are together the more intense the sensation, but we suggest 50-100mm (2"-4") is a good start.

Placements

Starter ideas for placement could be either side of the inner thighs, buttock cheeks, either side of the penis shaft to name but a few, but as everyone is different the advice is to try and experiment and find what works for you. Although the pads will stick to hairy areas, they will then be more ‘interesting’ to remove, so always try to make sure the skin is clean and dry before sticking the pads on.

You might find that one pads feels more intense than the other, this is normal and it due to the way your body detects the signals from our control units. Try flipping the connections. Turn the power up and things will become more intense - turn it down and things soften.

If you are more into sub/Dom play, then consider a sticky pad either side of a joint, or across the buttocks - turn the power up and you will find your subject is beginning to find it difficult to move.

Experiment!!

If you find a standard pad is too big (or too small) then we do carry two other sizes, and provided you don’t cut the central conducting wire, it it possible to trim the pads to shape. The pads are also discreet enough to wear under clothing, so if you have a E-Stim Remote, then why not take it shopping???

Just remember the pads are only designed to work on the surface of the skin, and try to keep below the waist for safety.

More than one.

If you have the right cable - BiCable anyone?, then you can combine a single pad with a number of other electrodes to really enhance the sensation. A Conductive Rubber Cock loop, or ElectroRing around the shaft and a sticky pad behind the testicles is a very interesting idea, or even consider paring a pad with a uthreral sound - just remember to work with the idea of two points of contact.

Cleaning

It's hard to clean sticky pads so we generally don't bother. Gently peel them off the skin when you have finished using them ,and then stick them back on the plastic carrier sheet. They seem to last us around 4 -6 uses, just don’t let them stick to the floor, the bedclothes or the cat as they will pick up hair and dust very easily.

For hygiene reasons we suggest that you consider pads to be a disposable item - we don’t recommend you use them on multiple partners.

Gel Free Zone

Our pads are covered in a self adhesive gel that provides great contact. They don’t need any conductive gel to work - however if they loose their tackiness it is sometimes possible to re-invigorate them by adding a couple of drops of water.

If the connectors become lose, use a small pair of pliers to crimp down on the sockets -this should tighten things up a bit.
